If
you are an ardent movie enthusiast, you would have surely heard of Sarah Lazow Producer. Owner
of Marada Pictures, Sarah is a film and TV producer and financier. Typically,
both these roles are taken up by men in the industry. Production and film
financing are two niches in the American fraternity that men dominate because
women usually end up as actors, directors, or casting directors. Sarah,
however, wanted to do things differently. She was a unique personality from the
very beginning.
One
of her kind, Sarah has already made her mark in the industry in a short period.
One of her Production was the comedy movie called 'The Weekend.' Being from a
non-filmi background, her journey has
been full of challenges and inspirations. She has worked extremely hard, toiled
day and night, to reach the place she occupies today.
A
woman boss responsible for leading her team of crew members with a hand of
steel and a heart of gold, Sarah is perpetually searching for themes and
concepts that showcase diversified topics, ranging from women-oriented to
inclusive content. Her production house, Marada Pictures, has already delivered
two wonderful pieces of content where she has received praiseworthy comments
from the audience and critics.
'The
Weekend' was her first movie to hit the theatres in the country. But, not
before Sarah Lazow, Producer
gave the movie the most appropriate opening – at the Toronto International Film
Festival. It was 2018, and the movie was the official selection by Southwest,
Tribeca, and AFT for South. The movie was directed by Canadian Stella Meghie
and starred Sasheer Zamata (from
SNL). It also had DeWanda Wise (from She's Gotta Have It) and Y'Lan Noel (from
Insecure) in it; an amazing comedy, well-written and well-directed, the movie
showed all the complexities of life eloquently.
The
other production from Sarah was 'V-Wars,' another comedy but a sci-fi for
Netflix. Starring Ian Somerhalder, the TV Series was also much appreciated for
content and presentation.
